Immunization Protocols of Rabbits using Proteins

Complete & Easy Protein	1.5 mg protein (~1 mg/mL)	1.5 mL pre-immune serum and approx. 90 mL antiserum per rabbit	15 weeks after receiving the antigen

High Speed Protein

Required amount of antigen: at least 1.5 mg from one batch, at ~1 mg/mL, 90% purity
Control of protein by SDS PAGE
Test of pre-immune sera and selection of suitable animals
Immunization of two rabbits using a 42-day protocol
Quality controlled using ELISA, if antigen is suitable
Delivery of pre-immune sera and at least 40 mL antiserum per rabbit
The animals will be kept after delivery of the antiserum.

Required amount of antigen: at least 2.0 mg at ~1 mg/mL
Immunization of two rabbits using a 105-day protocol (optional final bleed on day 105 or further animal keeping after day 105)
Delivery of pre-immune sera, 80 – 110 mL antiserum per rabbit (depending on the preliminary agreed final bleeding or standard bleeding on day 105)
Monitoring of the titer using ELISA (sera taken on days 0, 42, 63, 84 and 105)
The animals will be kept if the further keeping is agreed.

Please note: This protocol cannot be altered, and the rabbits are not further kept!
